Mary Lagman Hammond
Founder and President
Mary has over twenty-five years’ experience as a legal assistant with certifications in litigation and real estate. She has spent the last 20+ years at Greenberg Glusker, a Los Angeles-based law firm. Throughout her career, she has taken on various side projects, including copy editing for Bleacher Report and her own grant writing business. However, the driving force in her life is her faith and service, leading her to work with various nonprofits in the community. Her focus is primarily with A New Way of Life re-entry legal clinic assisting the formerly incarcerated, and Food Forward, a food recovery organization, where she serves as a community ambassador and glean team leader at farmers markets. In her free time, you will find Mary running. A lot. She is also an avid traveler and has hiked into Machu Picchu, snuck into Cuba, and spent the night in the middle of a volcano.
LaShaneé is a third-year law student at UC Davis School of Law. She was born and raised in Los Angeles and attended Columbia University in New York. She hopes to remain in Sacramento to pursue a career in public interest and public policy. LaShaneé has particular interest in issues that relate to youth and juvenile justice, criminal reform, women’s rights, and the political and economic advancement of communities of color. LaShaneé’s family is her biggest motivation. She is the oldest of five children, an aunt to her five-month old nephew, and a dog-mom to her beautiful, blue-nosed pitbull, Blu. She hopes to help create a world in which each of them feels respected, loved, seen, and included.
